Andy W had a crash at Squamish today and got a nasty gash on his heel from his fin. I believe that he went for stitches and will be off the water for a few days unfortunately.
I'm just reminding everybody that those things are sharp. Here's wishing you speedy healing Andy.
we need to have a talk about board parking. Maybe you guys should have a talk first and then proactively approach the rest of the community with what you propose as a solution. because there needs to be a solution to precede the problem I see happening sooner than later.
May I make a suggestion of creating an etiquette where race boards are stored fins down. I cringe when I see the fins up for both kites and people potentially tripping and landing on them. With the fancy new board bags you guys are all getting or now have, perhaps lay the boards on top of them. Another suggestion would be to have some sort of sleeve to protect the fins while they are in contact with the ground. It's one thing to see a board or two with the fins up but with the sport growing and more and more boards showing up at the Spit, I think this will be a good idea.
