Spanish Banks kiteboarding in the spring

In the spring and fall northwest wind comes through regularly at Spanish Banks. I have been winging there several times in the last week. Click on the Weather link at the top of this page for forecasts and current wind information.

My favorite forecast website is igetwind.com which is free and shows multiple forecast models at many places including Spanish Banks. The best current wind indicator there is at the Jericho Sailing Centre.

Tomorrow, April 19, should be another great day at Spanish Banks. I expect dozens of kiters and wingers to show up.

Reminder: You can launch anywhere until lifeguard season starts in late May and after then kiters are restricted to the Tolmie Street beach area but wingers can still launch near the Sailing Centre pier.

Chris, I don’t see the checkered flags near your place. Are we back to the anchor only officially?

The checkered flags are up regularly on the beach near the foot of Tolmie Street. That is where kiters are launching. Acadia beach also is fine.
