December kiting at Jericho

Postby cglazier » Tue Dec 14, 2021 9:41 pm

It is certainly colder than summer but it is still good for kiting. I have been out at Jericho on my hydrofoil five days already in December. Today was a very nice easterly and tomorrow (Wednesday) should be the same.
I am doing fine in my 4/3 wetsuit but I certainly need my booties, gloves and hood.
We get some good wind conditions in the winter right here in the city. If you have warm gear it can be great.

Where do you normally look for a reliable Jericho forecast Craig? Looks like there might be some wind tomorrow but hard to know if it will be kiteable. What do you think?

Click on the Weather link at the top of this page for forecasts and local wind sensors. The best forecasts for Jericho are igetwind.com and Big Wave Dave. There is a useful wind sensor at the Jericho Sailing Centre.
I am in Baja right now so I haven’t been following the wind situation. :D
