Hi I am new to kiteboarding, I started last season with a bunch of lessons in Squamish. By the end of the season was able to ride upwind comfortably and was just being supervised. Over the off season I bought all the gear and would like to start out a little more independent ,only problem is the I haven’t had much experience with launching and landing on the beach as I mostly had done this off the boat. I was hoping someone in the community would be happy to show me there process on the next windy day at Spanish banks? Thanks
Hi Salmon Welcome to the sport. The kiteboarding community is generally very helpful and if you show up at the Spanish Banks West concession stand launch area on the next windy day you will get plenty of help. Just explain that you are new there and not familiar with beach launching. It is really quite straight forward.
Whenever I kite in a new location always ask the kiters there if there are any special issues and I have always found them happy to advise me.
