I'm a bit of a rookie and was hoping someone on here might be able to help me. Have a few good dings in my race board from last season and want to seal them and make them smooth the proper way. Can't find much on the steps to do this anywhere and want to make sure they are repaired the best they can be. Any tips or steps to follow would be very helpful. Cheers
Good two part epoxy, shreads of carbon fiber. soft fiberglass will do. Wax paper measuring cup, masking tape, sissors, stiff brush saran wrap, and gloves.
Get a knife and carefully cut out any de-lam and sand around the repair. You want the epoxy to stick to the other epoxy and not the paint. Put your mix and fibers on the ding tape the saran wrap over top to get the natural shape.
This is the easy way but depending on the ding you might need more surgery than that.
