I am grateful that moderators are protecting us from known scams. The poster may not be happy because they never did enough research to know that it was a scam - which is quite irresponsible on their part.

after re reading my post ive come to the conclusion nothing will ever change about censorship on this forum - it is obvious whats going on here it's Chris's forum and he can do what ever he wants
Your joking right? Every person that has complained or as you put it been 'whining' about the censorship is LOCAL so I honestly am not sure where you are getting this from....Fraser wrote:Last time i checked this is a BC kiteforum so when I see people from other regions whining that we don't support their shops I really get ticked. The reality is folks, if we don't support our local shops we won't have any. Also this forum is provided free of charge without all the advertising many sites have. Grow up and stop whining and if you don't like it, go somewhere else to complain! Just my two cents!
I got a good chuckle out of this Mike!AF1 wrote:Maybe if you don't like it you should change the site name
To kiteboard airtime and not kiteboardbc.

- Ah actually I just stated the hours of Airtime...and I believe that I mention Phillipe provided excellent customer service did I not?Fraser wrote:Isn't it interesting that the people doing all the whining all seem to support their preferred venue and want to post about them and most are more than willing to mention Airtime in a negative light. At the same time I never see supporters of Airtime talking negatively about other shops.
Fraser wrote:This whole topic though is a quite important and is not unique to BC. Basically there are those people who believe in supporting local business verses those who only care about getting the best deal on gear. The reality is that if more people bought locally then shops like Airtime would be open longer hours and economies of scale would see better prices. Nice that some of you can drive to Bellingham to support their shop but for many of us Airtime is more than a shop. It's a place that you can go and meet and chat with local people who share the same passion for this sport.
Fraser wrote:Some are also claiming that CG has a financial interest in Airtime, what do you base this claim on? Also cost of operating this site is more than just financial. The time and effort put in to keep it going should be considered. All in all CG and group do a great job maintaining this site and if they set some rules around not promoting commercial business on this site we should respect those rules. If you don't like it, start your own site.

Tim:
I was going to stay out of this one, but it seems to have gotten personal.
I've known Chris and Philippe for some time and I am not aware that CG has a financial interest in Airtime. He volunteers his time there as do a few other kiters that help out in the shop from time to time. I'm not sure how you would know what CGs financial interest is, but perhaps you can PM me and let me know. Otherwise I think you are just blowing smoke.

I kite in Bellingham and Vancouver. I deal with BKB and Airtime. Both are great. You seem to prefer BKB, and that is your choice.
You don't have to look very hard to see lots of discussion of different shops on this forum. It is not all pro-Airtime and anti-everyone else. I can find many examples for you if you don't care to look yourself.
In this case, a moderator (probably CG, but I don't know for sure), deleted a post they thought was not appropriate. That was their call, and yes it is censorship, but that is what moderators are supposed to do. You have made it clear you don't agree with their decision.
As I see it, that leaves three options:
1 - You can get over it, and move on (not much chance they will put that thread back in);
2 - You can choose not to participate in this forum because you do not like the censorship; or
3 - You can continue to make unfounded personal attacks in which case you might get banned from the site.
I suggest we move on
Cheers, Grant
