I don’t think kites and windsurfers are affected as much but what about winging and the tidal flow in and out of the bay. There are some pretty big tides for the next while. Is it better if you are a beginner to practice on an incoming tide or an outgoing one? This is based on a NW wind. Any thoughts? Thanks, John
Hi John As a beginner you will want at least 15 knots of wind with a 5m wing. It is much easier to learn when you have power. With this much wind the tide is less important but an outgoing tide always helps when the wind is from the west. It is ok to go out in lighter wind to just practice standing up but you will probably end up downwind and after a bit of practice you don't learn much in light wind. Tomorrow, May 19, should be a good day at Spanish Banks. I'll be winging.. hopefully.
