The Vancouver lifeguards started duty today so we are prohibited from kiteboarding from any Vancouver Parks Board beaches except for the Spanish Banks extension beach aka dog beach. This is the area at the very west end on Spanish banks. This situation lasts until early September.
If you do have a run in with a lifeguard please be respectful, they are just doing their job. And you might be thankful for their assistance someday.
And efforts to change the Parks Board policy are being made.. but don't hold your breath.
Thanks for the reminder Chris. Too bad, as this lessens my chances for a post work session further ... the combo of high tides and swirly dog beach wind is a session killer. A situation where windsurfers have an advantage, now that foiling has opened up light wind possibilities once again. Sure would be fun to try one those surf wings with the big foil.
