It's got some nice aerial footage for sure, and some ok riding but it shows the Spit almost completely empty which is a joke. I don't think there's a single shot that shows more than 5 kites on the water or 3 in the rigging area. I guess they found a sunny midweek day in April before most people show up and that one cloudy day where most people didn't bother but it happened to be windy. Definitely not the Squamish Spit that most people experience.
Otherwise it's not a bad vid, just too bad it wasn't a bit more realistic.
A very nice video with lots of information about Squamish kiteboarding. Most of us know all this but prospective visitors might find it answers many questions. Naturally it shows the spit in the best light.
Amazing how people still seem to find reasons to complain about Squamish kiteboarding considering most aspects are world class.
Do you guys sh*t on places like Tarifa, Cape Town, Brazil, etc. too cause they're TOO popular with kite boarders?
There are 2 days where there are 50-70 kites on the water which are Saturdays and Sundays. Maybe folks will consider taking responsibility for their own life choices, instead of sh*tting on an amazing kiteboarding destination & community of friendly kiters, maybe book a day off, change your work schedule, or book a holiday, so you can enjoy some 20 days of the month where that isn't the case.
Even if there are 100 kiters on Squamish, maybe be thankful that your home kite spot can accommodate such a crazy number of kiters. I've been kiting in other places where you can barely boost or find tack's to stay upwind if there are even 20-30 kites on the water. When there is a large amount of traffic in Squamish all you have to do is go upwind and their is still sooooooo much room to do whatever you want!
