Worth noting that this is the date of the ironman. Anyone coming from whistler or Pemby need be to out town quite early. I know for me, if I don't leave Pemby by 6.30am I'll get stuck with road closures
I'm predicitng a big turnout and this will be great practice and an advantage for anyone who is also entering KITE CLASH the following weekend.
Anyone wanting to enter the Squamish Windfest Big Air Comp on July 27th should be at the spit to register by noon and we will be having a competitors meeting at 1:00, practice at 1:30 and the first heats will start at 2pm
FYI there is no entry fee for this one guys and absolutely anyone can enter. There will be a Men's and Women's comp.
FYI it is completely FREE to enter this one and it is a judged King of the Air style BIG AIR COMP with 70% of your score based on height and 30% based on style. The awards have arrived and are just awesome.
Registration starts at 12:00pm at the Squamish Spit this Sunday. The riders meeting is at 1:00, practice at 1:30 and all the action starts at 2:00pm sharp.
More great news.. On top of the trophies and bragging rights, the Men's and Women's SQUAMISH WIND FESTIVAL BIG AIR winners will also be getting either 2 tickets from Sunwolf for white water rafting or 2 tickets for the whistler sliding centre. They will also get a Squamish wind fest t shirt and a very special brew. Wind fest has activities all over Squamish all weekend including a concert tonight and a wind sports gear swap tomorrow morning. Check the fb page in my 1st post for more info.
